This little boy was the tiniest one of the litter. I watched over him and made sure he was getting as much milk as possible. He seemed to be growing nicely. Around 2am I discovered him tucked away under the group, warm.....but gone to the Rainbow Bridge. No matter how hard I try, if a puppy is meant to leave with the angels, I can only wish them safe passage and hope they return to us soon. It is a sad day.

Note: Buff colors are so hard to show true in the photos. They reflect the flash back to us. I hope they will show the reds better in the future.

On a day when we were overjoyed with the arrival of Dove's beautiful litter of cream puppies, we were very saddened by the loss of our precious boy Sponge. Daisy had been left with her puppies to feed them. Since the puppies were over 1.5 pounds, walking and two weeks old, we trusted her with their care. Big mistake. After ten minutes, I returned to remove her from their expen to find Sponge had gotten under her and was gone. A wise lady breeder told me that when you deal in life, you have to accept death. We can't. We are devestated. Daisy will be spayed. She's been a wonderful mother, but now it's time.
